Laboratory Storage Basics for Research Peptides

Storage decisions should follow the material’s label, available documentation, safety information, and the approved procedures of the research institution.

Start with the documentation

Do not assume that one peptide, blend, or formulation has the same storage requirements as another. Review the product documentation and any safety data supplied with the material.

Record conditions

Laboratories commonly document the storage location, container identity, date received, lot number, and any relevant temperature or light controls required by their procedures.

Protect the record

Keep the physical label legible and link it to the internal sample record. If a container is damaged, mislabeled, or outside the approved condition, follow the institution’s escalation procedure.
